Rajmiel Odinec*
Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer

As a member of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) staff from 1966 until 1989, Mr. Odinec served in a variety of executive positions. He began his career as an economist and financial analyst and later became Senior Economist, Chief Economist of the Industrial Project Division, Chief of Division of the Operations Department, and Advisor to the President. Also, by special appointment of the IDB President, Mr. Odinec participated in the restructuring of the IDB Pension Fund in 1981-82 and in its successful management through 1989.

In November 1989, Mr. Odinec joined the management and Board of Directors of SOL Capital Management Company.

Mr. Odinec studied at Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (Mexico), and graduated from UCLA with a BA in Economics. He received his MA in Economics from George Washington University and was elected to the Omicron Delta Epsilon Honor Society in Economics.

 

Samuel Sandler*
President

Mr. Samuel Sandler is a founding member of SOL Capital Management, an institutional Registered Investment Advisory firm, which provides investment guidance to high net worth clients.  Since 1987, Mr. Sandler has served as President and a Member of SOL Capital Management’s Board of Directors.  He oversees business development, strategic planning, and execution.

Throughout his professional career, Mr. Sandler’s signature has been providing a consultative, solutions-oriented approach. His unique blend of international executive management experience, coupled with his rigorous professional integrity, render his advice invaluable to SOL Capital’s clients. Born in Mexico, Mr. Sandler has a keen understanding of and an innate ease communicating across multiple cultures.   

Prior to joining SOL Capital, Mr. Sandler led Fabriles del Norte S.A., FANOSA – one of the earliest manufacturing companies in Mexico to expand exports to the United States. In this capacity, Mr. Sandler redefined the firm’s sales marketing and financial strategy.  Prior to joining FANOSA, Mr. Sandler was a consultant at Podolsky & Associates, a global management consulting firm.  

Mr. Sandler earned an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and holds a BA in Business Administration from Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Mexico. 

Mr. Sandler is a member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA) and the President of the Mid-Atlantic Region of the American Friends of Hebrew University, as well as an active participant in numerous family advisory boards. He is also a member of the World Presidents’ Organization and became a member of YPO, Young Presidents’ Organization, in 2003.

 

Ernest Odinec
Managing Director

Mr. Odinec joined SOL Capital Management Company in June 2010. He is heading the New York office with responsibilities in business development, investment research and portfolio management.

Prior to joining SOL, Mr. Odinec was a Vice President at Neuberger Berman working in the alternative investments group where he concentrated on hedge fund evaluation, risk management, due diligence, and portfolio construction. He has developed investment strategies for a range of clients including a $50 billion defined benefit plan for a major public company. Prior to Neuberger Berman, Mr. Odinec was an investment analyst at Strategic Investment Group (SIG), an investment management company based in Arlington, VA. SIG specializes in customized global asset allocation outsourcing for institutional investors, high net worth individuals and family groups. At SIG, Mr. Odinec was a member of the hedge fund of funds team; his responsibilities included manager selection, due diligence and risk management.

Mr. Odinec earned a BA in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley, received an MSc in Economic History from the London School of Economics, and graduated Beta Gamma Sigma from Columbia Business School, earning an MBA with a concentration in Finance.


Lawrence Lamonica*
Vice President - Business Development, Latin America

Mr. Lamonica joined SOL Capital Management Company in March 2007. He is responsible for managing relationships with Latin American investors, as well as developing business opportunities in the region.

Prior to joining SOL, Mr. Lamonica worked in the international division of the Chilean Finance Ministry, advising officials on financial policies concerning Chile and key multilateral organizations. Mr. Lamonica also spent three years at the Office of the Western Hemisphere of the US Treasury Department. As an international economist, he recommended policy actions for Latin American countries and developed US positions on International Financial Institutions' loans (World Bank, IMF and IDB). Additionally, Mr. Lamonica worked as an investment adviser at Larraín Vial S.A., one of the largest financial services firms in Chile. Mr. Lamonica has over thirteen years experience in finance and relationship management.

Mr. Lamonica holds a degree in Economics and Business from University Gabriela Mistral in Santiago, Chile and an MA in International Affairs with a concentration in International Economic Policy from the American University's School of International Service in Washington DC.

Mr. Lamonica also is President of the Board of Directors of the Chilean-American Foundation, a non-profit organization providing financial support to social projects in Chile.

 

Karin Schultz*
Senior Investment Analyst/Portfolio Manager

Ms. Schultz joined SOL Capital Management Company in August 2004. She is responsible for researching new investment opportunities and evaluating current holdings across all asset classes. She also acts as the portfolio manager for SOL clients.

Between 1998 and 2002, she was employed at Strategic Investment Group (SIG), an investment management company based in Arlington, VA, specializing in customized global asset allocation outsourcing for institutional investors, high net worth individuals and family groups. At SIG, Ms. Schultz concentrated on International Equity and Private Equity, managed the daily investment needs for a $100-million offshore fund, and calculated and prepared performance reports for a number of SIG's clients. In 2003, while completing her business school studies, she worked for the International Finance Corporation (IFC), part of the World Bank Group.

Ms. Schultz holds an MBA from Stanford University, with additional certificates in Global Management and Nonprofit Management. She also holds a BA in Economics from Georgetown University.

 

Rahm Dvir
Senior Investment Analyst/Portfolio Manager

Mr. Dvir joined SOL Capital Management Company in May 2004. Mr. Dvir's responsibilities include researching new investment opportunities and evaluating current holdings across all asset classes, as well as acting as the portfolio manager for SOL clients.

Prior to joining SOL, Mr. Dvir worked for General Electric as an assistant relationship manager. In that capacity, Mr. Dvir managed a portfolio of non-performing accounts receivable and real estate secured healthcare loans through all aspects of loan workout including: liquidation, restructuring, credit analysis and negotiation of loan documents. From 1990 to 1994, Mr. Dvir served as an Intelligence Officer in the Israeli Defense Force responsible for training and operation of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). He continued in this field as a Consultant for Singapore Technologies Holdings until 1996.

Mr. Dvir holds a BS in Finance and Economics (Magna Cum Laude) from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland. He also holds an MBA from the Carey Business School at the Johns Hopkins University with a concentration in International Business.

 

Lauren D. Lehman, CFA
Investment Analyst

Mrs. Lehman joined SOL Capital Management Company in August 2010. She is responsible for researching new investment opportunities and evaluating current holdings across all asset classes. She also acts as a portfolio manager for SOL clients.

Mrs. Lehman has a diverse background, with experience working with a start-up finance corporation, a local independent investment advisor, and a large brokerage house. In her most recent position with a Registered Investment Advisor, she was responsible for the portfolio management of over $200 million, customizing portfolios for individuals and trust entities.

Mrs. Lehman holds an MBA from Florida State University with a concentration in Finance. She also is a CFA Charterholder.

 

Eran Goudes, CFA
Investment Analyst

Mr. Goudes joined SOL Capital Management Company in May 2012. His responsibilities include researching new investment opportunities and evaluating current holdings across all asset classes, as well as acting as portfolio manager for SOL clients.

Prior to joining SOL, Mr. Goudes worked for a Registered Investment Advisor in McLean, VA, as a portfolio manager. In that capacity, he was responsible for managing over $100 million in client assets, as well as researching and evaluating equity and fixed income investments. From 1996 to 1999, Mr. Goudes served in the Israeli Air Force’s anti-aircraft division, where he trained new recruits.

Mr. Goudes holds a BA in International Relations and Spanish and Latin American Studies from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel. He also holds an MBA from the George Washington University School of Business with a concentration in Finance and Investments. Mr. Goudes also is a CFA Charterholder.

 

Adam Sauri*
Trader / Investment Research Analyst

Mr. Sauri joined SOL Capital Management in June 2012. He is responsible for all trading activity at SOL and ensures the best possible execution on all transactions.  He is also responsible for analyzing existing holdings and researching new investment opportunities.

Mr. Sauri was previously a Client Relations Administrator at SOL for two years.  In this role, he processed daily inquiries from domestic and international clients, and managed account establishments at financial institutions in Europe and North America.

Prior to joining SOL, Mr. Sauri completed three consecutive internships on the Mexico Desk at the U.S. Department of State, focusing on political and economic relations, as well as law enforcement cooperation between the United States and Mexico.

Mr. Sauri earned a BA in Economics and Latin American Studies from Emory University, during which time he also studied in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Mr. Sauri is a 2015 Level II Candidate in the CFA Program.


María Angélica Camp*
Senior Client Relationship Specialist

Ms. Camp joined SOL Capital Management Company in April 2002. Ms. Camp is responsible for the daily interaction with domestic and international clients, facilitating requests, performing due diligence and striving to achieve excellence in client relationships.

Prior to joining SOL, Ms. Camp worked for HSM, the leading management information company in Latin America, as Marketing and Advertising Manager. During her tenure she helped the company become the market leader during its first year of operations in Argentina. Ms. Camp also has worked for McCann-Erickson and Ogilvy & Mather, where she began her career in advertising through an internship organized by Ogilvy & Mather and Fundación de Altos Estudios en Ciencias Comerciales.

Ms. Camp is a graduate of Fundación de Altos Estudios en Ciencias Comerciales de Buenos Aires (Argentina) and also holds an Advertising Designer degree from the Asociación Biblioteca de Mujeres de Buenos Aires.

 

Susan Kantor-Tupp
Client Relationship Specialist

Ms. Kantor-Tupp joined SOL Capital Management Company in December 2007 and is responsible for providing tailored customer service solutions for domestic clients in a timely, complete and accurate manner. She also actively manages and further develops SOL's ongoing (internal & client) communications programs.

Ms. Kantor-Tupp started her career as an economic consultant in the mergers and acquisitions field and then moved to the strategic marketing and international business development arena working first at Verizon and then at Qwest, two large US telecommunications companies. Immediately prior to joining SOL, Ms Kantor-Tupp was a rate analyst with a well-known Washington DC energy consulting firm.

Ms. Kantor-Tupp holds an MBA from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland with a dual concentration in marketing and finance. She earned her BA in sociology from Syracuse University in New York.

 

Marcus Odinec*
Client Relationship Specialist

Mr. Odinec joined SOL Capital Management Company in March 2013. Mr. Odinec is responsible for managing relationships with SOL’s domestic clients and for providing the best client experience possible.

Prior to joining SOL, Mr. Odinec was a managing partner of Memorable Costa Rica, a tour operator specializing in Costa Rica. He handled all aspects of business development and sales and helped transform the company into the one of the most respected Costa Rican Destination Specialists in the industry.

Mr. Odinec holds an MBA from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland. He earned his BS in Recreation, Management, and Tourism from Arizona State University.


Sebastian Fuentes*
Client Relationship Specialist

Mr. Fuentes joined SOL Capital Management in March 2011. He is responsible for interacting with Latin American clients and addresses their day-to-day service needs efficiently.

Prior to joining SOL, Mr. Fuentes was a Marketing Communications Specialist at ProFunds Group, where he managed various projects ranging from shareholder letters to public presentations. During his time at ProFunds Group, he also was involved in editing different corporate communications.

Mr. Fuentes is a graduate of Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service, where he graduated with a degree in Latin American and European studies. He also spent an academic year studying Political and Economic Systems of Latin America at the Universidad de Salamanca in Salamanca, Spain, where he earned noteworthy and outstanding honors in coursework.


Kyle Whelan
Business Analyst

Mr. Whelan joined SOL Capital Management Company in July 2005. As Business Analyst, his areas of responsibility include process development, technology and integration initiatives, and business continuity. He has previously held positions in both the client services and investment groups at SOL, most recently as Client Relations Manager.

Prior to joining SOL, Mr. Whelan was an account executive for a well-known marketing firm in the DC metro area. Mr. Whelan also has served as membership manager for a nonprofit organization, where he gained significant experience in operations management, accounting, and database administration.

Mr. Whelan holds both an MBA and an MS in Finance from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland. He also holds a BA in Economics with a Certificate of Management in Accounting/Finance from the University of Rochester.
